Ingredients

  • 1 box uncooked lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound Italian sausage or ground beef, cooked and crumbled
  • 16 ounces shredded Italian blend cheese, divided
  • 2 ounces sliced black olives
  • ½ cup diced green bell pepper
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 29 ounce can tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tbs parmesan cheese
  • Salt/pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Coat a casserole dish with cooking spray
  2. Mix the water with the sauce, set aside.
  3. In a pan, sauté the peppers, onions and garlic until tender. Mix with the cooked meat.
  4. Spread a thin layer of sauce on the pan, and top with a single layer of noodles
  5. Top the noodles with a portion of the meat, and a portion of the cheese, add a and top with some of the sauce (1/4-1/3 cup)
  6. Repeat until all the ingredients are used.
  7. Finish top layer with sauce and cheese on top
  8. Cover tightly with foil and refrigerate
  9. The next day, uncover and bake in a preheated 350 oven for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Serve with parmesan cheese.
  11. Note: the assembly must be in the order specified.
